Teaching in the Savior’s Way outlines five principles of Christlike teaching:

  • Focus on Jesus Christ
  • Love those you teach
  • Teach by the Spirit
  • Teach the doctrine
  • Invite diligent learning

These five principles help teachers know where to focus their time and effort in improving their teaching skills. "Guidelines for Successful Online Teaching" lists teaching practices that help online teachers apply the principles of Christlike teaching in an online learning environment. These practices enable online learners to feel connected to each other, the lesson material, and the teacher. When this connection happens, it is easier for online learners to come closer to Christ, increase their knowledge and love of God, and serve God by reaching out in compassion toward all His children.

Use Teaching in the Savior’s Way and "Guidelines for Successful Online Teaching" together to increase your online teaching ability. The practices below include accompanying guidelines that you can use to evaluate your online teaching practices. Counseling with your local seminary and institute representative, use the guidelines to determine where you do well and what areas could use improvement as you strive to better help learners build faith in Jesus Christ and become more like Him.
